In the framework of the NEPTUN project of the pulsed fast reactor being designed, the construction of a mathematical model describing the dynamics of a system of interacting fuel elements has been investigated. The behavior of each fuel element has been approximated by a 2D oscillator model with harmonic and anharmonic interaction potentials, taking dissipative processes into account. The stability of the reactor operation can be affected by the dynamic bending effect of fuel rods. To assess this stability, we have succeeded to obtain the natural frequencies of the fuel element system. It has been shown that for the anharmonic interaction potential there are solutions similar to the soliton solutions of the Toda chain. Taking friction into account, a Hamiltonian formalism has been constructed for small harmonic oscillations and an explicit form of the solution has been obtained. The solution has been used to provide a dynamic analysis of the fuel element system in the phase space, to find natural frequencies, to consider symmetry groups of eigenmodes of oscillations. The obtained results will in future be used to assess the reactor operation stability. Our solution appears to be very effective in terms of numerical calculations with parallel GPU architecture.
