ACTS-Based Track Reconstruction for the Forward Detector in the MPD Experiment at NICA / N.Burmasov, E.Kryshen. – Text : electronic // International Journal of Modern Physics E. – 2026. – Vol. 35, No. 6 : Selected Papers from Nucleus-2025 (II). – P. 2641026. – URL: https://doi.org/10.1142/S0218301326410260. – Bibliogr.: 45.
The main goals of the Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) at Nuclotron-based Ion Collider Facility (NICA, Dubna, Russia) are the investigation of the phase diagram of QCD matter at high baryon densities and search for transition of nuclear matter into a deconfined state of quarks and gluons, known as the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP). The installation of the forward tracking detector in MPD would extend kinematic range to higher rapidities, which is critical for the studies of various observables that can be used to probe the properties of the produced matter. In this work, we present a brief summary of the physics motivation for the forward detector. In addition, we outline an implementation of track reconstruction with the ACTS package (“A Common Tracking Software”) and present the first results of feasibility studies aimed at optimization of the detector geometry.
