In this study, the structural and magnetic properties of Ni-substituted M-type hexaferrites with the composition SrFe&sub(12-x)Ni&sub(x)O&sub(19) (x = 0.0–0.3) were investigated by neutron diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and magnetic measurements. Rietveld refinement of the diffraction data revealed that Ni ions substitute Fe&sup(3+) ions at the 12k Wyckoff sites, leading to a monotonic decrease in unit cell parameters and volume, while the hexagonal structure (space group P6&sub(3)/mmc) is preserved. SEM analysis showed a reduction in average crystallite size with increasing Ni concentration. Magnetic hysteresis measurements and Curie temperature analysis indicated a gradual decline in saturation magnetization and thermal stability due to weakening of Fe–O–Fe exchange interactions. These results demonstrate the structural sensitivity and magnetic response of SrFe&sub(12)O&sub(19) to partial Ni substitution.
