Using Thue-Morse Quasi-Periodic Sequences in Multiplexing and Hazardous Gas Sensing / Z.A.Zaky, [a.o.]. – Text : electronic // Applied Physics A. – 2025. – Vol. 131, No. 10. – P. 782. – URL: https://doi.org/10.1007/s00339-025-08902-3. – Bibliogr.: 52.
In this work, we proposed multi-function quasi-periodic structures made of alternating open and closed resonators according to the Thue-Morse sequences. The capacity of the suggested structures to produce localized modes and acoustic band gaps (ABGs) is assessed, with an emphasis on the ways in which sequence complexity affects wave propagation properties. The transmittance spectra are examined for several generations of Thue-Morse configurations using transfer matrix modelling, which shows that as structural complexity rises, sharper and more noticeable ABGs appear. The findings demonstrate the potential uses of these quasi-periodic systems in acoustic wave manipulation, including sophisticated sensor devices, resonators, multiplexers, and adjustable filters. By utilizing the special interaction between periodicity and aperiodicity seen in quasi-periodic structures, this study aids in the construction of novel acoustic systems.
