Anelastic relaxation and structure of multicomponent Fe&sub(73.9)Ga&sub(26-x)Al&sub(x) alloys with and without additional alloying by carbon were studied using dynamic mechanical analyzer, neutron diffraction and SEM-EBSD. It was proved that the addition of 0.5at.%C leads to formation of E2&sub(1) (*k-carbide) phase in the D0&sub(3) structure. Increase in carbon enchances anelastic Snoek-type relaxation in the alloys.
