Long-term planning in the scientific community is a hallmark of all large-scale experiments: the distance from an idea to obtaining scientific results is sometimes several decades. The active phase of the experiment takes a comparable time, and how long the processing of the results will be carried out cannot be predicted in advance. Throughout the life of the experiment, the main value is data, simulated and especially experimental, since after completing the acquisition of data from the physics facility, it will no longer be possible to reassemble it. The importance of preserving the information collected cannot be overstated. To organize the storage of scientific data, specialized systems are developed, one of which is the Rucio system being developed at CERN. The first experience of using this system in the SPD experiment is presented in this article
