Observation of *c&sub(cJ) *> 3(K*+K*-) / M.Ablikim, O.Bakina, I.Boyko, G.Chelkov, D.Dedovich, I.Denysenko, P.Egorov, A.Guskov, Y.Nefedov, A.Sarantsev, A.Zhemchugov, [a.o.] // Physical Review D [Electronic resource]. – 2024. – Vol. 109, No. 7. – P. 072016. – URL: https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.109.072016. – Bibliogr.: 20.
Experimental studies of charmonium states and their decay properties are important to test quantum chromody- namics (QCD) models and QCD-based calculations. In the quark model, the *c&sub(cJ)(J=0,1,2) mesons are identified as &sup(3)P&sub(J) charmonium states. Unlike the vector charmonium states J=ψ and ψð3686Þ, however, the *c&sub(cJ) mesons cannot be directly produced in eþe− collisions due to parity conservation, and our knowledge about their decays is relatively deficient. These P-wave charmonium mesons are produced abundantly via radiative ψ(3686) decays, with branching fractions of about 9%, thereby offering a good opportunity to study various *c&sub(cJ) decays. Currently, theo- retical studies indicate that the color octet mechanism [1] may substantially influence the decays of the P-wave charmonium states. However, some discrepancies between these theoretical calculations and experimental measure- ments have been reported in Refs. [2–5]. Therefore, intensive measurements of exclusive *c&sub(cJ) hadronic decays are highly desirable to understand the underlying *c&sub(cJ) decay dynamics.
