The results of the study of the dynamics of the pulsed batch reactor IBR-2M are presented. The reactor generates powerful neutron pulses with a half-width of 200 µs and a frequency of 5 Hz at an average power of 2 MW. The fast power feedback (PF), which acts within one minute of a sudden change in power, has a fundamental effect on the reactor dynamics. In the process of reactor operation, the parameters of the PF change. Accordingly, the dynamic properties of the reactor and the conditions for its safe operation change. All this requires continues monitoring of reactor dynamics. For this purpose, a mathematical model of the IBR-2M dynamics was created, which is used to evaluate the dynamic state of the reactor by processing the power transients obtained by periodic reactivity modulation. The paper gives some results of the study of the reactor dynamics, shows that the dynamics of the IBR-2M has a complex character and changes significantly with energy output. – (AIP Conference Proceedings ; Vol. 3020) .
