A bulk Micromegas detector with a resistive diamond-like carbon (DLC) anode was tested in terms of long-term stability and robustness to electrical discharges induced by highly ionizing particles. The DLC coatings exhibit stable long-term (over 3000 h) sheet resistance (an increase of less than 5%), making them a promising option for resistive anodes in Micromegas detectors. During the robustness test, about 0.5 billion discharge events per 1 cm&sup(2) generated by an alpha particle source were accumulated. Accumulation of discharge-induced damage to the resistive DLC anode resulted in only minor changes in the anode resistance and detector performance, despite partial erosion of the material.
