With the rapid development of proton therapy technology, the performance requirements for superconducting cyclotrons have become increasingly stringent. This study focuses on the design and commissioning of the radio frequency (RF) system for the 240 MeV superconducting cyclotron (SC240) in proton therapy applications. The spiral-structured RF cavities, operating at ~77.8 MHz in an in-phase mode, were independently driven by two power amplifiers. Through optimized cavity design, the unloaded Q factor of 5700 has been achieved, complemented by an external coupling structure to enhance coupler longevity. Concurrently, a low-level RF (LLRF) control system has been developed to enable precise multi-parameter regulation (including voltage, phase and frequency) and implement rapid protection mechanism. During high-power testing, two mitigation strategies were introduced to resolve arcing phenomena. Test results demonstrated that under closed-loop control, the amplitude and phase stability of the RF system could be improved to *(0.011% and *(0.067&sup(o), respectively, fulfilling the beam extraction requirements of the cyclotron.
