The Effect of the Entrance Channel Properties in Formation of the Reaction Products in Heavy Ion Collisions / A.Nasirov, [a.o.]. – Text : electronic // Nuclear Physics A. – 2026. – Vol. 1065. – P. 123262. – URL: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.nuclphysa.2025.123262. – Bibliogr.: 25.
The hindrance to complete fusion is studied as the increase of the yield of the quasifission products. The formation and breakup of a dinuclear system (DNS) in the heavy ion collisions at energies near the Coulomb barrier has been calculated in the framework of the DNS model as a function of the orientation angles of colliding nuclei. The nucleon transfer from the light fragment to the heavy one leads to the formation of a compound nucleus (CN). But the DNS can break up into two fragments (so called quasifission process) rather than reaching an equilibrated CN state. Consequently, the quasifission causes decreasing a number of events leading to complete fusion. Therefore, a study of the role of orientation angles and angular momentum in the mass distribution of the reaction products for the given mass asymmetry of the colliding nuclei allows us to establish a nature of the hindrance. The results of this work have been compared with the measured data for the quasifission yields in the &sup(46)Ca + &sup(168)Er reaction to show the role of orientation angles of colliding nuclei.
