A coarse-grained model for a magnetic microgel based on bead-spring representation is introduced. Molecular dynamics simulations are carried out to study the details of cluster formation in a spherical sample comprising magnetic nanoparticles and polymeric beads bonded in a predetermined manner by elastic springs. By variation of the cross-linking procedure, several types of microgel objects are obtained where the magnetic nanoparticles are distributed either randomly or in a core-shell pattern. The results allow one to evaluate the effect of nanoparticle aggregates assemblage on the size, shape, structure factor, and cluster distribution in microferrogels. – (AIP Conference Proceedings ; Vol. 2627) .
